BAM-BAM: Bam-Bam (featured in the East Nashvillian and Out & About): This guy just wants a chance to snuggle at your feet. Bam-Bam's past is very tragic, but he has been well cared for the last 6 years. His owner has become very ill and had to move to Chicago for care. Bam-Bam is about 8 years old and weighs 45 lbs. He is a very confident, mellow dog that is great with other dogs once he gets to know them, but doesn't relate well to cats. He gets along well with every human he meets. He is crate trained and walks well on a leash using a pinch collar. He is easy to exercise requiring 20-minute walks or interactive playtime. He could be conditioned to be a great running partner. He loves his Kong and elk antlers. He loves to play and would probably do well in a home by himself or a home with other balanced dogs. First photo, courtesy of Images by Stacie.
BENJI: Benji is an inquisitive and playful clown was found in East Nashville dragging a chain around his neck. He is a 2 year old, 60 lb American Bulldog mix who loves to play ball, knows how to sit, stay, down, shake, show his belly and give high-fives. He walks well on a leash with a pinch collar. He loves his foster brother, Traveler, and could do well in a house as the only dog or with another if properly introduced. Like most terriers, he has a prey drive, so he probably would not do well with cats and can be distracted by the occasional squirrel when on walks. He doesn't know a stranger, but is probably too strong for small children. Benji craves leadership, so would do well in a home with an owner taking the alpha role. While he only needs about a 20 min walk per day, he could be conditioned to be a great running partner. He is house and crate-trained. Fully vetted. Up-to-date on all shots and has been neutered. REMI: This sweet adolescent border collie mix has had a rough start to life and deserves nothing but love and affection. She was found in East Nashville after being shot in the face, side, and neck with buckshot by her own owner! Despite that ordeal, she has the sweetest personality and loves nothing better than to be loved on. Remi is healing beautifully. She is crate-trained and actually enjoys sleeping in it...even with the door left open! She knows to go potty outside. She is extremely sweet and loves to be held and played with. While not specifically cat-tested, we suspect that she would get along with them like a champ. She is very tolerant, so she won't retaliate if another dog snaps at her. However, she can be intimidated by larger, bossier dogs. Her personality is amazing despite all that she has been through, and she is eager to learn. She loves being with her foster mom's young daughter, and gives lots of kisses. Her face, neck and side are healing nicely and she bounces around the house like she knows that she is a lucky girl to have a second chance.
BETSY LOU: Betsy Lou was spotted on Woodland, then caught on Eastland. She is dog friendly and hasn’t been cat or kid tested. Given her gentle demeanor, this shouldn’t be a problem. Betsy has been great on a leash and enjoys her kong and other toys. Her personality takes on whatever dog she is with, a senior she leaves alone, but likes to play with the younger pups. She is being house and crate trained currently. She is up to date with her vaccines and will be soon spayed. Betsy is currently looking for a foster or forever home. photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.
POLLY: Polly was dodging traffic on Gallatin Rd. when someone scooped her up and saved her life ! Polly is in the process of receiving puppy shots and will be spayed soon. She is approx. 6 months old, lab mix and according to her foster mom she is super sweet, house and crate trained, smart, receptive and just a joy to have. She is getting along great with her foster brother and loves having an active lifestyle and will be a GREAT dog in almost ANY home ! Contact us to meet her before the puppy breath goes away ! photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.
ROXY: Sweet lil' Roxy was rescued along with her momma and litter mates out from underneath a house on a very cold day last October '11. Roxy's mom worked so hard to keep her pups warm, fed and happy while she endured a mammary infection in horrible conditions. Roxy is now approx. 8 months old, has received all vaccinations, about 30 lbs, petite frame and face, almost ( if not already ) full grown. She is a petite / medium size gal. Roxy is crate and house trained, walking well on a leash. Roxy's mom is Border Collie so we are calling her a Border Collie mix. She gets along very well with other dogs and is just a bubbly ball of FUN ! photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.
SEYMOUR: Seymour looks to be a shepherd mix. He's friendly and eager to please. He's calm, balanced, and gets attached quickly. He would be great with kids. About 50 lbs and approx. 3 or 4 years old. photo courtesy of Images by Stacie.

DUBLIN: Dublin was abandoned by his owners and left tied to a porch using a piece of pantyhose. After coming to his temp-fosters' home, he was given his first round of puppy shots, but we found out he had parvo, too! This little survivor has come through with flying colors and is back to 100% health. He has joined his foster pack of 3 other dogs and gets along with them well. He is just a baby…he is 11 weeks only and is currently is weighing in at 10 lbs. We think he is a shepherd mix, and will probably be a petite adult. He is still learning his manners, but is coming along with crate training. He still needs some help with potty training and can only hold his bladder for 4 - 5 hours right now. He is a little lover who wants to follow you around the house wherever you go. He has lots of puppy energy and is a loyal companion. Who wants some puppy kisses?
DELILAH: Delilah is an amazing girl ! She was found rummaging through trash on Gallatin Rd a few weeks ago. She is young adult, pretty low key but loves to rip and run the back yard with her 5 border collie foster brothers and sisters ! Whew ! It's definitely something you gotta see ! She is a very well balanced dog, VERY loyal and wants to please so badly. Delilah is spayed, fully vaccinated and perfectly healthy ! She loves living with her foster pack, but would also be fine as the only pet. photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.

GRACIE: Gracie is a boxer/American staffordshire mix, who despite her cruel early life spent chained outside in a barren yard, is a sweet, gentle, and loving companion. Gracie is the proud graduate of a behavioral and socialization training camp; her trainer recommends that she will be an excellent companion as an only dog in an active family. Gracie is a quick learner who is eager to please - and to cuddle! She is spayed and up to date on all her vetting. Approx. a year and half old. If you would like to meet Gracie, please contact Amy.
SIRI: Siri is an 11-week old yellow lab mix. (Her litter mate is Boomer, the husky/ shepherd mix). She is a big snuggler and really likes being around people. She and the rest of her litter mates had been dumped in a bin in AL. She came in very dehydrated, but has been getting lots of fluids and is back to being a happy puppy with plenty of energy. $250 which includes the spay or neuter, microchip, 3 DHLLP shots, rabies, fecal and a number of dewormings and complete vet check up. Contact Candace Simpson Giles with Critter Calvary.
CUPCAKE: Cupcake is 1-2 years old, very sweet and has the most beautiful honey colored eyes. Up to date on shots and spayed. She was left behind when her original owner moved to Texas and couldn't take her because of lease restrictions. She has lived with a family of six kids and two dogs. She is getting along well with current foster pack ! Cupcake loves to play with her favorite toys, the tennis ball and nylabone. She likes running in the yard and then snuggling up on the couch afterward. She knows how to "sit" and foster parents are teaching her "down" and "wait". She is crate and house trained. Please email Lindsay if you would like to meet Cupcake! photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.
SOPHIA: A few weeks ago ( 2/01/12 ) during the oh so weird winter thunderstorm Nashville endured, this sweet girl wondered up on to her finders porch in Madison. She has since been named 'Sophia', it just goes with her sweet, gentle and soft temperament. She has only been with finder for a few weeks so we are hoping owners do come forward. She was in GREAT condition when found, smelled as if she had just been bathed, no collar or tags were on her, no microchip. Finder has hung numerous signs around his neighborhood, posted and searched on Craigslist for matching description and asked neighbors and local businesses if anyone has been looking for her. She was clearly loved, well taken care of and someone MUST be looking for her ! We are hoping to dog, cat and kid test sweet Sophia very soon. She is VERY human friendly, loves a good belly rub, will curl up on the couch with you and is a big 'ol ham ! Please contact JW @ 519-7572 if you would like to meet sweet Sophia to adopt or foster ! photos courtesy of Images by Stacie.

SHELBY: Shelby is about 10 months old. HW negative, has shots now and is de-wormed. Poor Shelby was emaciated when she was found so she is fattening up now, but is still very petite. Would you like to give this little girl the love she deserves? Contact Katie.
DOUG: Doug is a special needs pup and has been diagnosed as deaf. Doug has adapted to learning hand signs and now knows how to “sit”, “stay”, and “come” using sign language. He understands “NO” when said loudly while shaking a finger and your head at him. He is housebroken and his crate training is improving every single day. Doug is approximately 1 year old. He enjoys visiting the neighborhood kids at the bus stop in the morning and going for walks and runs. He does need to be the only dog in the house. Doug is not an East CAN dog and only a complimentary post for a fellow proactive dog rescuer. Please contact Maggie Toczylowski at 314 443 3821 for more information.
